Dr. Manning: A Brief History
Diplomate of the American Board of Phlebology, the American Board of Anesthesiology, and the American Board of Pain Medicine.
After completing medical school at the University of Mississippi (1991), Dr. Manning completed his internship at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN (1992). He and Scarlette then moved to Winston-Salem, NC where he began his anesthesia residency at Wake Forest. The anesthesia residency program at Wake Forest is among the the top anesthesia programs in the country. Dr. Manning completed his anesthesia and pain training at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, NC (1995).
Dr. Manning founded the pain management program at Methodist Hospital in Jackson, MS before joining the staff at St. Dominic’s Hospital as an anesthesiologist. He has a tradition of leadership, having served as president of Physicians Anesthesia Group at St. Dominic’s Hospital and as president of the Mississippi Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Manning was trained in phlebology by Dr. John Kingsley at the Alabama Vascular and Vein Center in Birmingham, AL. Dr. Kingsley is an internationally recognized expert in the field of phlebology. Dr. Manning furthered his phlebology training by becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Phlebology. He is also a member of the American College of Phlebology.
Dr. Manning is a recognized expert in the field of phlebology and is a frequent guest speaker on the subject at medical conferences throughout the state.
Dr. Manning founded Mississippi Vein Institute in 2008 and has successfully performed thousands of endovenous laser procedures.

Dr. Manning has been married since 1987 and has 2 sons and 1 daughter. He grew up in the Mississippi Delta (Drew) on a cotton farm.
